Car Shipping From Point A in Georgia to Point B in Ohio

So you’re thinking about transporting a vehicle from Georgia to Ohio? There are all kinds of reasons why vehicle transport makes better sense than driving the car yourself. Obviously driving means a big investment of time and energy, but there’s also the safety concerns, the fuel costs, the wear and tear on your car and other factors to consider.

In these next few sections, we’re going to talk about vehicle shipping from Georgia to Ohio. We’ll discuss how the process actually works, and we’ll show you how you can set up your own vehicle shipping order, taking charge of things so you can customize your shipping to your vehicle, your budget and your preferences.

Let’s talk specifically about vehicle transport from Atlanta to Cleveland. A mileage guide shows this to be 739 miles by highway, and our performance guidelines for drivers note that a delivery that has to cover 200-300 miles should be doable in a single day. If the transport driver has 2000 miles of driving, that’s going to be an 8 to 9 day turnaround. With that in mind, we could estimate vehicle transport from Atlanta to Cleveland should take 3 to 5 days to complete.

What to Expect from Georgia to Ohio Vehicle Shipping with Axis Auto Logistics

What to Expect from Georgia to Ohio Vehicle Shipping with Axis Auto Logistics

Car transport from Georgia to Ohio doesn’t sound that tough, at least not on the surface. But then you think about some of those destinations, some of the routes you’d have to cover to get there and the fact that you’d very likely have to negotiate city traffic or at least Interstate traffic near a city and it looks a little different. It’d be challenging enough to make that drive in your own family SUV, so now think about handling that route in an 80’ double decker auto transport truck, loaded down with 10 customer vehicles that you’ve been entrusted with. When you’re looking for a Georgia and Ohio car shipping company, don’t just go with the one that offers the lowest rates, because too often that’s going to mean a company that’s skipping over some things and cutting corners on performance.

What Affects Your Car Shipping Rate?

Let’s get into those factors we mentioned above and break it all down in more detail:

Vehicle year/make/model: this all goes back to the vehicle’s curb weight and dimensions. Anything that’s bigger and heavier costs more money to ship, whether it’s a vehicle or a tractor; that’s how a Ford F150 costs more to ship than a Mini Cooper.

Vehicle running condition: shipping an inoperable vehicle means special equipment and special procedures on the part of the driver. Not all trailers are set up for vehicles that can’t start, run, steer and stop under their own power, and shipping a non-running car will come at a premium cost.

Zip codes of starting point and destination: whether it’s vehicle logistics, bus fare, plane tickets or train fare, the more miles are involved, the more it’s going to cost. The good news is that shipping costs start to drop for very long distances, making cross-country auto logistics a pretty solid deal.

Desired timeframe: in the auto logistics business, there are certain calendar periods when the volume of shipping orders we handle will pick up. During these busy phases, the supply/demand principle kicks in and rates will go up as fewer transport drivers are available for incoming orders.

Desired method of transport:  different types of trailers are available, for different levels of security and protection while the vehicle is en route, and they come in at differing price points

How to Transport a Car to Another State from Georgia to Ohio or in Reverse back?

Here’s all there is to the process:

Enter your info in the Price Calculator and your order will be put in the system; you won’t, however, be charged until we can connect your order with a transport driver.

You give us your preferred timeframe for pickup and we’ll dispatch a driver to your address during that window of time. You and the driver will each do an inspection of your vehicle pre-trip, for the Bill of Lading document. It’s suggested you take photos for an accurate record of your vehicle’s condition.

We’ll give you the best estimate for time and date of delivery, and you can expect to see the driver at your destination then. You will both conduct a post-trip inspection and you’ll be asked to sign the BoL when you take delivery of your car.

Expert Advice for Efficient Vehicle Shipping in Georgia and Ohio

We want you to have a seamless shipping experience, and these are a few steps you can take to get your car ready for the road:

Shipping a car with less than ¼ tank of fuel cuts curb weight and lowers shipping costs.

Please disable the car alarm and remove any toll tags or parking tags.

Please remove any detachable accessories: bike racks, rooftop carriers, lights, etc.

You can ship up to 100 lbs of personal items, as long as they’re secured and in the trunk or cargo area.

Go over  your car for fluid leaks: motor oil, coolant, transmission, brake or power steering fluid. Transport drivers can refuse to load a vehicle with fluid leaks.

Please be sure all tires are inflated, the battery is fully charged and all lights work.

Remember that for low ground clearance vehicles like lowriders, exotics and sports cars, enclosed transport is the recommended service.
